QuickTime and Windows 8.1

Quicktime Installation on Windows 8.1 64-Bit

I just downloaded and installed QuickTime on my 64-Bit Windows 8.1 computer.  The installation went smoothly and everything appears to be running well.  Specifically I loaded QuickTime Version 7.7.5.

On Apple's download page it only shows support for Windows 7 and other earlier versions.  No mention is made of Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.  Although I have not extensively tested the program, I was able to play a variety of movie samples that I downloaded from Apple.

Xvid 1.3 Encoder Settings

I am in the process of researching Xvid encoder settings. I am running version 1.3.2. Below are images I created of the various Xvid 1.3.2 encoder configuration screens.  Note that I plan on performing Xvid "Single pass" encoding with a specific "Target quantizer"setting.  Based on this I only show the screens associated for these options (ie. The configuration screens for "Twopass" Xvid encoding are not shown).

Please note that the specific settings are not recommendations but simply what I had set them to when I used the Windows Snipping Tool to create the images.
